AFRANE (French-Afghan Friendship) is a French NGO working only in Afghanistan, for more than 35 years. Since 2002, the NGO dedicated itself to support and enhance quality of public afghan schools. This support can either be a “hard” one (e.g: construction, supplies for schools, rehabilitation of buildings), or a “soft” one (e.g: teacher training, creation of pedagogical tools for teachers and management tools for directors). AFRANE works with 32 precisely identified schools, some for more than 10 years, and tend to offer its services to neighboring schools of the identified ones. Those 32 schools are located in 5 provinces (Herat, Bamyan, Nangarhar, Parwan, Kabul), and can be very different in terms of quality, population, and buildings (some very large urban schools, some very small rural schools, and everything in between).
