AWRC is a woman local non-government organization established in 1989, since its establishment it has been serving Afghan women through a variety of projects targeting the most vulnerable women in need of support. The projects targeting women through AWRC Kabul and Peshawar office has included: income generation and marketing, education especially nonformal education (adult literacy), health projects (nutrition and health education), capacity building and vocational training (office management and computer training), rights awareness and civic education. Currently AWRC is serving Afghan women through eight community based resource centers in Kabul, Kapisa, Parwan, Laghman and Jalalabad provinces. Through these centers a variety of projects are running, which include income generation, marketing, literacy and health education, capacity building, rights awareness and civic education.
