HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation is a non-profit, politically and denominationally neutral Swiss NGO engaged in more than 30 countries with the aim to improve   the living condition of disadvantaged people. HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation  has been implementing development projects in the field of NRM, DRM, Education, Agriculture, WASH, local governance since 2002 in targeted districts of Bamyan, Baghlan, Samangan, Nangarhar and Kunur provinces  of Afghanistan.

The RLP is implemented in the two eastern provinces of Kunar (Khas Kunar and Sarkani districts) and Nangarhar (Momandara, lalpura and Goshta) along the border with Pakistan. The overall goal of the project is to contribute to build resilient and improved livelihood systems for the rural communities to cope with natural disaster- or conflict- related vulnerabilities. It refers to the nexus between poverty and conflict. Water and land use management, local economic development, access to and delivery of services and capacity building of the partners and actors are the main objectives of the project.
The project is facilitating by partner organizations Rural Rehabilitation Association for Afghanistan (RRAA) and Afghan Agency for Integrated Development (AAID). The core local partner is CDCs who are involved in all planning, prioritization and implementation of the project activities.
